What is IPA?

The Indianapolis Professional Association (IPA) is Indianapolis’ premier networking, educational and youth-oriented organization for local African American professionals, businesspersons and others. IPA is and has always been proactive in its major community endeavors, and its main activities continue to promote the importance of education, economic development, networking, youth achievement, community involvement and youth empowerment. IPA strongly believes that its charitable purpose for existence continues to be served by directing its resources to these ongoing and needed areas of concern.

The Indianapolis Professional Association is a charitable 501 (c) (3) organization founded in October 1984 by six local attorneys and one judge to promote and develop the goals of education, economic development, and professional networking in the African-American community.

Our Mission

To promote and develop the education and economy of African Americans and to encourage others to do so

To be a network for African Americans to gather and to discuss and exchange ideas

To afford assistance and training to African Americans and others in various professions, businesses and occupations

To act as role models and mentors for African Americans and others throughout the community
